mama mia

Hi all. Mark is hitting me with a headphone wire as I type this. The things I put up with, I tell ya. ;)

Well, I'm in Kelowna right now. For those of you who don't know (which would be most of you) my mom had congestive heart failure last week and was very close to death. It's a long story. But! After a week of being in the hospital she is now recovering at home which is great news. She was helicoptered out of Nakusp, BC. last week and was in the Intensive Care Unit four days and was then put into Cardiac Care. Mark and I left town to see her and so did my two brothers.

It gave us a pretty good scare. When I saw her in the ICU my tears came immediately. But day by day she is looking brighter and more and more back to her sparkly self. I feel grateful and relieved.

We'll be here for a few more days and then head back to the Knife.

Thanks for the update, Colleen. Did you tell your mummy that me and Jason and everyone on Kelly's blog is praying for her? (See the comment I just left you on "People Like Items..." on my blog. Sorry, too tired to go find the link for you! Anyhoo, the praise report is awesome. Thanks.

Anvils falling on heads. It's no kind of fun to see your mother in the ICU, it kind of makes time just stop, like you have to remember to breathe in and out. So happy and relieved to hear that she is recovering. Please pass on my love to her, and my prayers for all of you. May God give you peace.

Hello all my friends above. :) Yes, anvils falling on heads, indeed. Thanks for all your concern and prayers and love, oh my! The love feels good (as opposed to those nasty falling anvils of life). It was a scare. My mom was saying today that she finds it very traumatic to recount the story to others. That was surprising for me to hear only because she's always so upbeat and positive about pretty much everything. Maybe later I will recount the story in a bit more detail. It was pretty cool how God got my mom to the hospital in time ... otherwise she would have died in her sleep.

I know each of you in varying degrees but love to all of you for your care towards me.

I am not sure how I missed this post. For some reason I needed to refresh the screen.

Sounds like it has been a difficult week, I hope she continues to gain strength and heal. I am also glad you got to be with her!!

I'm glad too, Kori! It was sooo good that we could just whip down from the North. We even caught a close connecting flight so, all said and done, it took us about 4 hours to get here!

Bets, the trip was good! We got here zippideedooda fast. Every day my mom's feeling a bit stronger but she's surprised by how little energy she has overall. It'll take time.

Peg! You're alive and in P.A.! Thanks for your words. I was wondering how things were going. I know a move is big. Add 3 kids to the mix and it gets BIG. Are they all starting their new schools this week? You must feel a blur!

Hi Ace! I hope you didn't feel abandoned. I love visiting you. When my hub was looking at my blog one day he asked who you were and I said that you were someone I met through someone else's blog, that you lived in Australia and were really cool. Right away he said, "We should go to Australia and visit her!" Thanks for your heart. I am encouraged.

Teehee, sweeeet! I didn't feel abandoned. I was like...hmmm she must be busy. Let's check. And then, Whoa! Oh, I see. Yes, both of you come visit me. I bake well. I will sing a song for you if you promise not to laugh!

Ace - oh HOW I would NOT laugh except unless it was for joy. I love to sing, too. So maybe you could teach me the harmony. And you bake? Oh my. This is looking good to me.
