eight things about me
1. I'm scared of doing anything that's new.
2. I love the sound of rain so much that it actually hurts sometimes.
3. As long as I can remember I get excited every day before I get the mail.
4. My favourite thing to look at is a stormy sky and the shadows of clouds on the hills.
5. Spring is my favourite season.
6. My biggest and weirdest pet peeve is if, when I'm talking, I can see from the corner of my eye the shadow of my own lips moving on the wall.
7. I've steered a ship through a hurricane.
8. I dream of someday riding the gondolas in Venice at least twice - once during the day and once at night.
Hmmm. I've got a shadow and water theme going on here. Does anyone want to psycho-analyze me?

Ooohhh...a fellow rain lover! I loved reading those things about you Colleen. Very interesting!
kk!!!!!! I decided that my pet peeve is the power going out- when one is home alone! It was out for almost 3 hours- So I went out came home and it appeared- just as I was like how lame is this! Too Coool! I felt like a lost soul- eating by candlelight- home all quiet.
I get so excited when I take the 1st sip of Java! Its my comfort!
Haaaaaaa I hate seeing my shadow too.
hey I remember you in the hurricane- Wasnt that on Mercy ship or something? I think Shar told me.....
It might take a day or two to get my "tag" done--I see you were much more merciful to me (as far as length) than when the situations were reversed! Hee!
I actually have a fabulous cranberry sauce recipe which I created myself, but I haven't had time to send it over to you, yet. Hmmm...maybe with the holidays approaching, I'll just post it on my own blog. Would that count?
Thanks for checking out my blog Colleen.
I have to give you credit here. I run like heck when heavy rain comes. It doesn't help that I was in a tornado once where I was lifted 6-7 feet in the air while in my car. I am a big chicken when it rains now....
You've wanted to do the gondola thing, too, Sonya? I've heard of people going to Venice but not riding the gondolas because it's too expensive. But that's almost the only reason I'd want to go! I will save my pennies in a pile and declare it a pleasure worth spending them on.
Rachel, I love that you love rain. Thanks for tagging me! This one was fun to do and I didn't want it to be over.
Bacon Mukluk - I can picture your sad little self munching alone in the dark. When we were kids and the power went out my parents had a hot dog roast for us in our fireplace!
It was on a boat called the Teakerne Navigator. Quite the experience!
Oh T-Bean! You may do it (or not do it) whenever you so choose. And truly I am teasing about NOT receiving cranberry recipes. I look forward to your c-sauce blog in time. I am always by you and your recipe-creating. I've done that a couple of times and thereafter told myself to stick to other people's recipes! How are you doing these days? Are you enjoying life in Peace? (No pun initially intended.)
Hello WWW! I would run from rain too if it had been as cruel to me as it has been to you. That is an amazing thing that you went through! I am glad you survived it and escaped Oz or much, much worse. By my thinking you have earned the right to be a little chicken of the rain ....
Thank you for coming by. :)
Addendum - T-bean! I meant to say I am always amazed by you and your recipe-creating. :/
EXACTLY, Sonya! Exactly.
Thanks for the addendum. It's amazing how one word can be so crucial to making a sentence make sense, or not!
I shall get it up this week--Thanksgiving's a-comin'! (And so are the relates!)
'Tis true! This is a little bit different than word placements but one of my favourite sentences plays with emphases and it is:
I didn't say he stole the money.
If you speak this sentence aloud several times and each time you speak it you emphasize a different word you will have a completely different meaning. I guess this is why one has to be extra careful when they're writing a blog that they create the right emphasis otherwise one could be deeply misunderstood! Couldn't one?
Hee hee. One could.
I was alone and sad and eating in the glow of candlelight- sigh...
Oh Bets. That's such a forlorn little picture for me to imagine. I hope you were warmed by the glow if even just a little.
I was.... Your Parents are so awesome to do the hot doggie roast!
any questions?
