lost and loving it

Well, I'm neck-deep in Lost. Um ... how much do I love this show? At this point in our lives we don't have cable but friends of ours introduced us to the show a few months ago and we watched all of Season One within a week. And now Season Two is out so we rented the works. For the last four days as soon as I get home from work Mark and I plow through a few episodes. "I laughed. I cried. It moved me, Bob." Any Lost enthusiasts out there? Or naysayers? The worst thing about it all is having to wait a whole YEAR to watch the next season.

My sister loves Lost. I didn't get into it though. I like faster paced ones I guess.

I looove Greys Anatomy, House M.D. and Prison Break (which can be slow at times)

Count me in as a HUGE lost fan. Keith and I just love it and I surprised myself because generally it's not the type of show I like to watch. But since I know Evangeline's mom I figured I should at least watch the first episode. Well...that's all it took and we were so hooked! Sonya...you really must watch the first season...everything is tied into it!
Kori~it is spooky at time and I plug my ears often.

Aakanksha - I haven't gotten into those shows you'd mentioned only cuz we're cableless. I've heard people talk about how great they are though - like Grey's. Different strokes for different folks. :)

Sonya - YAY! You love it, too! I'm with Rachel. Rent just one disc at a time of Season One if you can. The first season puts so much background and intrigue into the whole show.

Kori - There has been a few shows when I've held a pillow over my face with the top third of my eyeballs peering above it. Why do I think a pillow will protect me?! :0
And that's cool about you and Rachel working with Mrs. Lilly.

Rachel - it surprised me that I liked it, too. Not because I don't like shows like that but because it's been so long since I had a Must-Watch Show in my life. There's a computer game (the only one I play albeit rarely) called Myst and it's all about mystery and an island with odd clues and strange messages and you have to figure out everything on your own and it's frustrating but I love it. Watching Lost makes me think that the writers used to play Myst because the show is like the game come to life.

You know it's all your fault... I missed the first season, then tried to get into it when they showed a recap show before season 2. I dismissed as an over-dramatized, over-scarified (if that's a word) hit for the reality show buffs. Then we chatted about your experience watching Season 1. So I took the plunge and borrowed the same this summer. Then I had to have season 2, so I found someone to burn copies (yikes!) from the internet for me.

And the rest is history. Words fail me about this show. I live in fear that they'll do the Hollywood thing and come to a weak conclusion, or worse yet, cancel the show before it can resolve.

Sorry for the long comment, I tend to get carried away, as you'll know from my blog. =)

Hey Colleen

I'm back on the 20th... glee! Job interview next week hopefully.

Watership down is a rad book. I bought the sequel before I went to Africa, but it's still sitting in my luggage... too many other good reads over there.

P.S. check out the sept11 post on my blog, it's the coolest picture I've seen in a loong time.

Monky - I guess I'm what you'd call an enabler. heh heh. I'm glad you tried it again. And I know what you mean about worrying they'll have a crappy ending! I thought I'd written about it here but in fact I had only just thought it. Perhaps I thought, if verbalised, t'would become reality. Mark wanted to buy the first two seasons and I didn't say anything because I was silently fretting the thought but if they put a stupid ending on it then I'll be mad and won't want it. Fickle am I. I watched Steven Spielbrg's Taken one summer. It was a gripping miniseries that ended so deflatingly for me that I was deeply and truly bummed. But despite this I trudge on hoping for something good with Lost.
Hmmmm. See? I can ramble too, ya know.

Barry - Hey! Welcome back to the Knife!
I had no idea there was a sequel to Watership Down. I guess I'll have to add that to my ever-growing list of reads. I gotta say that I am truly thankful that it's an ever-growing list. Books are a huge perk to life on earth. :)
Saw your blog. Great photo.

As per our discussion when last you graced my living room, we are LOST fanatics. And I am so. jealous. that you are watching the second season. I will have to check and see if our local vid store got it in or not.

And WHY? did my computer not show this updated post before now? I KNOW I've checked your blog since Saturday! Blogger does that to me sometimes. Blogger and I have a love/hate relationship. Most of the time it's okay, but sometimes it just gets ya' to see how you'll react.

T-bean! Yes, Blogger does that to me too. Poo, I say! I say it again: poo.

Do check your vid store. It should be there for sure! Unless you are in a long lineup of others wanting it as well. Ah well ... it is worth the wait, let me tell you. I will be sad when this show is over. Ack! Listen to me! I'm already lamenting its end instead of relishing it whilst it's with us. Silly girl.
