The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

Those are gorgeous pics! Cute one of you and Mark.
Love ya!
Love the photos Colleen!! Gorgeous! You and Mark look too cute.
These pictures are beautiful, they look like they could be on postcards!! You take gorgeous pictures, Colleen.
Love the falls and the scenery!
"The Knife" is beautiful!
I bet those falls are equally as pretty covered in snow & ice :)
Thanks for sharing the picture of you and Mark, very nice!
Stunning! How about you telling us how you and Mark met?!
love the pics. I always forget how pretty it is up there. We haven't been since Luke was little.
Talena - Thanks! Love you too, girl. :) It was such a nice day together.
Shari - Thank you, too! I feel cute when I'm with Mark. :)
Well Koala - should have seen all the pics I DELETED. Honestly, I love digies for that reason alone - you can snap up a storm and delete all the duds. That being said ... thanks!
Sonya - it's strange beauty here. Some days it leaps out at me and I'm blown away but most days the beauty is hidden and I have to look for it with intention. Does that make sense?
Kori - We've tried to visit Cameron Falls (45 minutes out of town) during every season and it is very nice indeed in the winter! The top of the falls freezes but you can hear the water flowing underneath. So cool.
Okay Rachel - see what you've gotten started? All the old photos and great stories have been so enjoyable for me to read. I should have known my turn would come.
Sonya - et tu, Brute?
Laurie - Thank you! We hadn't been there in about 3 years or so. It was lovely. It's so nice to be able to get away from town for just a few hours. It's a wonderful getaway.
All of y'all - okay. I will post pics of Mark and I and how we met and all that good stuff. I can't promise how soon it will be but it will be sooner than later. And by the way - it's been SO SOOOO fun for me to converse with you girls. I've loved it! Some of you I've never met. Some of you I've met but never knew. Some of you I know just a little. Some of you I've known and loved for years. Isn't blogging SO MUCH FUN? You girls are great. You encourage me and brighten my day. LOVE to you all.
Gorgeous pics Colleen!!!!!!!!!!!
You and Hubby are so adorable together:-)
I luv the last one- you look so pretty!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Betsy! Thanks a lot! :)
I was unable to comment earlier because blogspot was stuffing up.
Sooooooo, I wanted to say that isn't it AWESOME when you and I both visit waterfalls ON THE SAME DAY even though we are in different hemispheres and continents?
Although you got lucky with the glorious weather!! We had our rain jackets donned but the sun peeked out every now and then! I'll share photos when I write a post on the holiday!
SWEET AAKANKSHA! I love your name. Writing it is fun, too. :)
We should forewith declare this to be WORLDWIDE WATERFALL DAY! I'm only sorry that I got the sunshine and you got the rain because I adore the rain and can never quite get enough of it.
I really am looking forward to your pictures. I keep checking in to see if they're posted yet. No worries! I will be very patient. :)
I'm listening to David Gray tonight and it's just perfect. It's making me so happy that I'm getting joy dips in my heart. I love it when that happens.
L8r Sk8r. Love to you.
