The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

Doing a very happy longer day dance over here. Whistling a merry tune...
Yay! Sunlight for Colleen. :)
That's the sun I sent you, by the way. It just took awhile to get there. ;)
You have such an artistic eye Colleen! I'm glad you got some sun. Amazing what it can do for the spirit!
What a fantastic picture and great sunny feeling!
Make's me warm just looking at it.
We of course are back to our 'rain'. Would love a sunshine and snow combo right about now :)
Cheryl - dance with me, beakniblet, oh dance!
Sonya - thank you vewwy vewwy much. I'm used to mail getting to the north slowly so I'd say it arrived right on time. :)
Jill - Honestly, this very second when I reread what you wrote just the mere thought of that sunshine seemed to refresh my spirit. And thank you.
Kori - Despite my love of sunshine I think I would actually, just maybe, swap you snow and sun for rain. I miss the sound of it and walking in it.
Did you seriously just get sun for the first time all winter on Tuesday? Or maybe just more than an hour's worth?
Love you!
Oh! Well, technically we've had sun all winter but it's been SO cloudy that direct sun has been few and far between. And because the sun doesn't rise very high I don't see it for the most part because the houses and buildings hide it from me. I'd have to get into an open space to feel it's sunbeaminess upon me. Alas! I can't remember the last time the sun shone straight into my house like that. Months, probably.
Love you too, T.
Beautious picture, Colleen! I love the light.
it is a happy day indeed
when the sun comes out
after the months of hiding
behind rain & snow & clouds
(but i love all of those too...)
:)
Cindy & EmilyRuth - happy day indeed! I'm not sure how but until this winter I do believe I took the light for granted. Now when it shines on meI feel like my heart is opening up like a spring flower. Okay. That felt pretty cheesy to write but ... it's true so come cheese what may!
heh heh. I said "when it shines on mel." Who's Mel that the sun shining on him should make me feel like a flower? Really now. "When the sun shines on me I ... " I really have to begin proofreading before I publish. Ah well. I'm just plumpin' up my comments in the meantime.
any questions?
