moni and me

Moni and Me
Sunday evening Monika and I went to Pilots Monument to blow bubbles. Monika knows about this passion of mine and thought the highest lookout point in the Knife would be the perfect place to concoct the airsome orbs I have come to love. Of course I thought it was a GREAT idea.

Our watery town.
What you can't see is that just to the right of me is more water. Yup! I'm almost surrounded by Great Slave Lake. It is the second-largest lake in the Northwest Territories, the deepest lake in North America and the ninth-largest lake in the world. (I love Wikipedia.)

This is Pilots Monument à la bubbles.

My magic wand.

And this is how it's done.

I'm smiling right now just thinking about it.

Like this actually.

There
was the odd mosquito.

This particular one had a cowlick and was wearing loafers.
My magic wand took care of things.

Monika

So Colleen, how does this work? You just stir the magic wand and ... how does it go?

There you go, Moni! You don't need me!

We stirred a little extra good and blew out the sun.

I like that this is blurry.
I think that's what bubbles do for me.
They blow away my blur.

Night night, Knifey.

What a fun evening we had! Your little captions under the pictures make me laugh. Which is something you always seem to be able to do. Which is why I like you! :-)

I'm glad that I'm not the only adult who loves to blow bubbles. Maybe someday we'll have to blow bubbles together. :)

Hi, Moni! I like you, too. AND you laugh at all my dumb jokes. Bonus! :D

Aw Rachel, thanks! My mom is a kid at heart, too so some of it is just plain ol' genetic or positive influence or something!

Son - someday we'll have to because some things shouldn't die just because you're getting older, right? Right.

emilyruth (because you like lowercase :) - i'd blow bubbles any day alone but you're absosmurfly right - it's just better with a friend.

Cheryl - I love you!

Mindy - hooray! You can see them! This morning I couldn't see them either so I had to do it all over again but now my font and font sizing isn't working properly. Oh poo. Maybe I'll have to upgrade to Wordpress or Typepad or somesuch. ALL THAT TO SAY ... (ahem) I'm glad you can see and I'm glad you are here. :)

I LOVE these pics. I think it's so great that you take the time to do these things that you love. I'm rather partial to bubbles myself. :)

I really like blowing bubbles too. They chase away
the blues and always show me a rainbow. Hope
we can meet and do bubbles together.
Thanks for reminding me - I'm not alone in my
addiction to bubbles.

Jillian - I'm learning! Learning to do the things I love, that is. I haven't always but I'm getting there. Surprisingly it takes work!

Hello and welcome Grandma Betty! I'm always happy to find another bubble lover. You said it exactly right - blues begone and rainbows instead. I like that rainbows come from storms and sunshine - it says alot, doesn't it? And if ever I should chance to meet you I'll be sure to have my bottle and wand ready. Thank you for coming to visit!

I'm glad you did, Felicia! Now I'm just working on my other magic wand tricks - such as commanding chocolate to appear at will.

Kori - That's funny! After I read your comment I went back and read it and imagined there were no pictures. It would sound pretty strange with nothing to see! I've never thought of my town as "cute" but I kinda like thinking of it like that. :)

Oh T, LOVE! to you, too. xo.

Hello Cheryl! Welcome and thank you so much! I do live here. I haven't always loved it but it has grown on me. It's a unique place, that's for sure. Perhaps it's just my foggy Saturday brain but I am pulling a complete blank ... Ruth from NY? Please forgive my forgetfulness. And do come again!

Hi Clara - yes, 'twould! I can just see him floating away in confusion, cowlick and all. heehee. :)

When are we meeting? =) Can we try building the largest wire loop possible and try blowing the largest bubble we possibly can with it?
