The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

This is a lovely photo. makes me wish I was there.
Those clouds look very menacing. I'm more of a blue-sky kinda' girl. I like the water though. Big, big fan of bodies of water.
What a nice shot! How often does it look like that during fall? I mean the clouds or is a storm coming?
That is a wild photo! Love it!
I'll try PAINTING this photo in watercolours - this evening in fact!
Awww...I so thought that red-haired woman was you!! It is a beautiful photo.
Yes, I am missing my Mark so very much, but he'll be here in... 3 months and 2 weeks!! =) That'll be the end of my chocolate consumption ;) We're actually doing very well with the whole long distance... most of the time we're just pissing ourselves laughing over happenings of the day, especially MY clumsy day.
Love,
A.
p.s.
download skype. It is free. Get a headset - $25. Result : You can see and hear me and talk to me even, almost as if I was right next to you. Almost.
'tis my favorite season of all!
...and I love this photo, too.
...AND if you get skype, you must let me know--t'would be loads o' fun. (Although Cheryl seems to think it messed up her computer, so you might want to talk to her first).
I didn't know you had a blog!!!! Fun!
Mindy, let's show Colleen what she's missing out on. We should skype. That'll tempt her!
Skype crashes at times but it cannot stuff up any other software/hardware.
Hello, Yolanda - I like this photo, too. It feels wistful and calm to me. And welcome here!
Sonya! Well, I'm glad you like the bottom half of the pic .... ;)
Hi Clara - It's not often stormy looking like this in the fall but it is often cloudy. The area I live in is riddled with lakes (seven in my town alone) so as the temperature drops it's quite cloudy. Once the water freezes we have very cold weather and very blue skies.
Hi Jillian! I like you. :)
Ace! Did you end up painting it? I'm so curious!
I'm glad things are awesome with your Mark despite the miles between ye. It sounds like you can really be yourselves with each other which is the coolest.
Re: Skype? Well, we'll see ... My hubby is Master and Commander of all that gets put onto the computer. So blogging and Facebook for now is what we have, dear chickie. I'll let you know if the wind changes .... :)
Mindybean! You're an autumn girl, hey? I'm a springy one myself although in the North I really should pick a new season as there is all of two weeks of pretty spring weather here. Poo. Autumn lasts a little bit longer and it's so lovely here now with the leaves all golden and the lakes all blue ... I might have to join sides with you in loving fall most of all.
Tara! I do! I have joined the masses. Stop by any time, girlie!
Ace - why you temptress you.
Dear Collen's Mark,
Please install Skype on her computer and gift her a headset (Logitech's is cheap and functional) so that we may chat? So that I may chat with my friend Colleen. So that if she ever visits London and yells out my name at the airport, I will know who she is!! If you would like a list of 143.76 more reasons, please let me know.
Thanks,
A.
I'll sign my name to that letter too, Ace.
Y'all in cahoots, ain't ya.
any questions?
