The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

Believe it or not, I'm so jealous! Being from Manitoba my heart longs for good snow here in rainy BC!
Fantastic shots!
Your pictures ALMOST make me wish we had some snow.
Snow...and SUN! Great mix!
Nice sparkling shots!
Sometimes I pretend that sugar crystals or rain droplets are just like snow. Really. That's all the lookalikes we have on this island, not counting the snow-generating machine. :-)
I officially have snow envy! Can you send some to me??? Pleeeeeeease?????
Jillian, you can have ALL the snow of mine you'd like. Trust me, 7 months from now when you're STILL looking at snow photos on this blog you will be sick to death of it.
Oooo, I met a woman who has actually been to Yellowknife!! She is from Quebec. I bombarded her with questions and told her I had a lovely friend there. She said it is beautiful, very northern, very cold. Which I can believe, seeing these wonderful gorgeous snowy photos. Don't you just flop down into it the whole time? I know I asked you that before. When I come and visit (!) I'll come in the winter time so we can make snow angels and traipse through the fluffy powdery snow and then go into the warm and drink some Lapsang Souchong! (there, I've said it again)(it's actually pronounced "soushong, not "soutchong") (I actually have no idea whether that is even true, but it's how I've always pronounced it).
By the way, can you tell Talena that I can't leave any comments on her blog because of that visual verification thing. I would love to but I can't. Where the visual verification thing should be, there is a small box with a "x" in it, and that's all I can see. So the comment enabler device just refuses my comment.
I love that last picture, where the sun is just edging its way over that little mound in the corner.

Hey girl!
Love the snow pics! Makes me want some of it - but only while it's fresh. The rain pouring down and making it a muddy soupy mess somehow just isn't the same.
I miss you!
Beautiful, beautiful pictures. I love snow, and we'll be having it for many more months, too.
any questions?
