We were walking down NE Fremont Street in Portland and discovered the wee studio Bella Flora. Elaine is a florist and crafter who sculpts art of nature - pussy willow baskets, fairy furniture made of moss. I love the beautiful mess of her work table. She was all outside air and apple cheeks and clearly content in her domain.
little shops like this one are the reason i love going to portland & the reason i'm glad i live two hours away from portland...because if i lived any closer i would spend all of my grocery money at one of these sweet shops every month...for sure...
I didn't get anything! And those pussy willow baskets were pretty adorable. I guess it was one of those time when the memory of pretty things was just as good as the owning of them. :)
I love when I stumble upon a beautiful blog....especially when they visit sweet little shops in my neighborhood! I love the photo of Elaine's work table. I will visit again soon!
Hello, Mrs. French! Thank you and welcome here! I did a fair amount of tromping around your neighbourhood ... maybe I walked passed your house, who knows? :) Portland is such a pretty city and it was a perfect winter escape for us. I'm glad you popped in to say "hi". Come by anytime!
My name is Colleen. I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."

"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

Just caught up on your last four posts. Thanks for bits of beauty to brighten my day.
Looks like you're having way more fun than you are telling us about.

Fairy furniture made of moss? Does it get any more magical than that? What a delightful little shop!
Well my goodness that is a beautiful shop. You know I can't resist flowers :)
Did you get anything from the shop?
