The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

It isn't every tree that has it's leaves turn white.
Your pictures are stunning...because those are scenes we never really see here in Ireland, I am enjoying every glimpse into your arctic life!
Wow. It's a winter wonderland.
Thank you, Sinead! I stepped outside this morning just before the sun rose. I tried to take pictures but nothing I saw in my camera could come close to what it actually looked like. It is so "otherworldly". I don't know if there's a camera out there that can truly capture it, the colours and light. It's like it doesn't know what to do with all the "white". The sky, the ground, trees - everything is a cold, cold white. It absolutely takes my breath away.
any questions?
