The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

Book stores are one of my happy places. I can't help but feel better after I've spent time in one.
Did you take any of these gorgeous creatures home with you, then? I love going to book stores. And libraries. If I wasn't a nurse, I'd be a book store lady!
Oh, I most certainly did! I also found some whimsical notebooks to fill. It is the largest book store I've ever been in. I thought I wouldn't like it so much when I first heard of it because I tend to like small stores more but it was wonderful, wonderful. I was a book store lady for a time and there really is something wonderful about cracking a box of new books and pulling the lovelies out one by one. :) Do you like nursing?
Would you believe me if I told you that I was in that VERY SAME bookstore this summer?!?!?! I can't almost believe it!
I am rather jealous! So I tagged you on my blog today for a book game.
Beautiful! Places like these help my thoughts and creativity flow more freely.
xx Ace.
isn't powells dreamy?...i love it so much & am always happy if i get an hour or so to get lost in the shelves...i love how it's like a maze...except when you have to go to the bathroom & you can't find it because you are on the orange level & it's on the blue level & to get to the orange level you have to go through red & black...then i don't like the maze too much...
Yes, nursing's my thing :) I used to be a sales assistant so world of shops isn't all that unfamiliar. I never worked in a book store, though. If only there were a way to combine these two... oh! How great would it be if you could get your blood pressure measured and buy new novels at the same time? Now there's an idea :)
I'm so envious!! MB and I were supposed to visit Portland next month but the work ogre reared his ugly head and we had to postpone. Powell's Books was HIGH on our list of must sees. Thanks for sharing.
any questions?
