The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

Oh, dear Colleen - to quote Amy Winehouse, I bet you are saying, "no, no, no." I do think one of the hardest things is comparing. Don't look at anyone's springy looking blogs. This is your spring, whatever it is. A bit over a year ago, I posted this:

It will melt, I promise.
Nan! Please don't feel sad for me! I really am okay. The ice on the lake breaks up in the middle of June. The snow may be here until then and that's just the way it is under the Arctic Circle. Besides, you can't tell it from this photo but the snow has been melting and ground and brown grass can be seen in many places. As cheesy as it may sound I really do delight in the beautiful photos of spring that people log. I do wonder sometimes though how it must feel for all my southern friends to see me post snow picture after snow picture even into their summers! What stands out to me though is your kind heart and I want to thank you for being so thoughtful. I'm discovering that as long as I engage in my surroundings, even seemingly bleak ones, I come to appreciate and love them for what they are. Thank you, Nan. xo.
I really wonder what living in so much snow would be like. I'll put up a few snow in london photos.
Sweet ride! ;)
Your car just looks so cold...I remember those days back in MN. I had to plug my poor beast in or she wouldn't start.
Yes, plugging in. I didn't even know about plugging in until I moved to Alberta and saw cords hanging out the front of every car. :)
any questions?
