The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

Hi Colleen, I like the new look of your blog! And those pictures are beautiful, did you take those yourself?
Gorgeous pictures! I do hope for your sake however that the landscape will be changing from white to green sometime soon. Or perhaps you're used to long winters in which case, enjoy!
Thanks, Moni! I've been thinking of you lots these days, did you know? What? You mean you can't hear my thoughts? Read my mind? Oh. :) And yep! I took the photos. Last week I went running about in a flurry snapping in the cold and jumping into the car when my fingers couldn't take it anymore.
Thank you, Sonya! I am used to it but at the same time I crave CRAVE a BC spring. That's why I enjoy everyone's green photos especially much. Things will be officially green sometime in the beginning of June, I think. Really that's just over a month away so I think I can hang in there! Thank you for feeling for me, girl. :)
Gorgeous pictures. I have to tell you, though, I am SO glad we don't have anymore snow on the ground!! We've been getting a lot of rain and my yard is looking so pretty with all the daffodils and tulips in bloom. The grass looks so nice and green, but check back with me in July. I'll be whining about how hot and dry it is and how my yard looks tired and worn. I think I belong in the Pacific Northwest!
Hi, friend.
You always post such fabulous pics! I too, hope you get some green soon!
Beautiful Pictures!!
Thank you, friends! Green is on its way but it will be a month yet. Until then I will be smiling wistfully at gigantic puddles wishing for rubber boots. :)
A warm welcome to you, simplygrove. Please come by anytime. And thank you.
any questions?
