The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."

"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."

Oh, I love the picture. I think the simple, everyday things make the most wonderful pictures. Your photos always make me pay attention, to really notice what's in front of me.
Hey Colleen,
I never did eat there. Isn't that horrible as a Yellowknifer? Does that make me NOT a Yellowknifer??? I could so have a great breakfast right about now. It doesn't matter what time of day it is. It would go well with the manure smell on my shoes from the rodeo!
Tell Mark he's a great poser!!!

Thank you, Nan! There are so many homey vignettes around us everywhere but without the frame they can just blend into the ordinary. I love how cameras can give them the importance they deserve. :)
Kelli? No Wildcat? Well, I guess you'll just have to come back and visit, right? RIGHT? You're a breakfast girl too, hey? I think this is the first year the Wildcat is doing breakfasts which is GREAT. We actually ended up going two mornings in a row because we enjoyed it so much. :) Also, I'm curious, why would breakfast go well with manure? I don't understand .... xo.
mmm... looks so wonderful and peaceful. and tasteful.
It looks so warm and homey.
