behind my house

Here we are again so soon!

The furnace comes on at night.

A scarf is a good idea.

I drink tea just for warming up

and wear socks to bed.

The leaves have one foot in summer, the other in autumn.

Yep! Fall has come to town.

If there's one redeeming thing about fall, it's the lovely colors.

OH my heart breaks :( We are in the same boat girl. PG has been so cold and so much rain (again today) that we didn't have summer and I noticed when I drove to town yesterday that the underlying colour on the leaves is changing to yellow. Ick. Hang on summer, you have to make an appearance. Sigh...its no use is it??

It was chilly this morning (and again this evening) as I walked our dog. It rained all day and never got above 68. Probably not terribly cold to you, but in Nebraska it's a bit unusual for this time of year. I love long, hot summers and I'm really not ready to greet the cold winter months! Maybe we'll get lucky and have a nice long fall.

Gorgeous pictures, by the way!

The leaves are changing here as well, altough we are having a burst of late summer temps. Fall is coming too quickly.

I am green with envy. Autumn is my favorite time of year for sure, but here I sit feeling the full blast of the A/C to keep the 93 degree outside temp from getting too close to my skin. Ick. All we have here is dead grass and droopy trees; everything is thirsty. Including my soul. Send some of that lovely season my way? :)

I love this: "The leaves have one foot in summer, the other in autumn." Isn't that just the way, this time of year.

Astrologically, too, in that Virgo is the transition time- the time of part summer and part fall.

Hello everyone! It was nice to hear from you all! Thank you for your kind words. An especially warm welcome to Elk, who is enjoying the loveliness of summer for some time to come (whilst I wear socks to bed), and to Charlotte, who can sympathize with me and the soon-ness (ableit the beautiful-ness) of a northern fall, - thanks for stopping in to say your first hello! Wow. That was, uh, some sentence! Welcome all!
