The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

An awesome photo. I can relate to the fish. I feel a bit trapped.

Nice fishy! Is it yours or the girls??

Oh my sweetness. I have just read through your last few posts, having been absent from this familiar cyber world for so long. I am so happy you've documented this whole thing, I feel the weight of your words and emotions. What a very unsettling yet also extremely exciting time for you and Mark. Yet also very unsettling. Yet exciting. Cardboard boxes are so eloquent. They say everything beautifully. I feel unsettled and excited just looking at them.
Thank you for sharing this part of the journey.
Thinking of you and sending you love and a familiar armchair and a cup of tea.

Rich - Thank you ... Is there a way out?
Kelli - The girls bought it for me because they thought I might miss the one I left behind. :)
Cat - You always warm me, dear friend. Thank you. It has been all those things most of the time. It tires a heart out, doesn't it? ♡
I just happened here for the first time in too long it seems. Lovely little fishie. :) My boy had one that was the delight of his heart and that poor fish left this world for the next last week. ::sigh:: So hard to see such a young heart break..
any questions?
