The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

Ah Colleen... once again my heart opens and fills with warmth reading your words. You always manage to do this, and whatever my day has been like, I always smile and breathe when I get here, remembering how beautiful and simple the world is.
Thank you.x
Me, too. I loved picking them apart in pieces and telling the little story of the princess with the slippers (bleeding hearts, I mean.) My grandma had scads of them in her yard.
Bleeding hearts are called "broken hearts" in Finland. So sad, yet so beautiful.
Ummmm ok, great minds think alike! I promise I never looked at your blog till now. I wasn't copying ... promise! too funny!
Beautiful photos my friend.
*gasp* I TOTALLY remember the buttercup under the chin "do you like butter?" thing. How FUN!
I just planted some Bleeding Hearts last week! Not sure if much will come of them yet this year but hopefully they will survive till next year!
PS, thanks for the snowflakes...I totally forgot to tell you though that you didn't have to send them back to me, we could have just made more and you kept those! I don't know your email address but if you could drop me a line with it that would be great, ourlastname@shaw.ca.
Thanks Colleen!
Such beautiful photographs. How funny that Shari and you both had photos of bleeding hearts!
Oh, I love bleeding hearts! Reminds me of my grandma. They are so delicate - amazing, creative God we have.
And he has given you SUCH talent!
I want to live there! Where are you?!!
Especially if I were a cow. I think a cow would be in heaven midst all that greenery :-)
