The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

great shot! what time was it? the time stamp on your post was 5.07 - is that when you took the photo, too? Do you find the light different from Yellowknife?
Hi Nan, thank you! I didn't take the photo as early as five. I don't know what time it was but I know it wasn't that early! Today (July 18) the sun comes up in Yellowknife at 4:25 am and sets at 11 pm and here on the west coast it rises at 5:35 am and sets just after 9 pm. A difference of about 3 hours of light. And during the summer soltice there would've been a four hour difference in light. So! To answer your question ... yes! there is a big difference in light. Gee. You ask a simple question and you get a book! :)
any questions?
