The Pancake Chronicles
My name is Colleen.
I love taking my time and finding beauty and humour in things before they happen - as in seeds and salamanders.
"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing — to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from — my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing, all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."
C.S. Lewis - Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold
"Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
Rusty Ryan - Ocean's Twelve

Mmmmm. I love me some cream cheese. And cheddar. And mozza. And camembert. And havarti. Etc.
Pure joy! Another cheese lover!
Colleen, the photo of cheese next to cucumber made me feel sick. It reminded me of long car journeys during which I would invariably get very car sick. My mother always made cheese and cucumber or cheese and tomato sandwiches. To THIS day, I always associate the two. Sorry, I have to stop writing now, I have to run to the bathroom. (Oddly, I can eat both ad nauseum independently of each other.)
Oh no! Don't you mean "ADD nauseum"? Heh heh ... okay, not funny. Dear me, I am sorry this post specifically meant for your happiness made you feel ill. I hope your tummy has settled and is thinking happy lemon meringue pie-ish thoughts. (This reminds me of the soggy tomato and cheese sandwiches I'd have as a kid - freshly and lovingly made in the morning but by the time lunch came around ... well, I'll spare you extra detail you needeth not.)
Okay, so I saw this book at Anthropologie and it was all pics of balloons in trees and up in the sky (Ryan thinks they were all staged). And actually it made me kind of sad to see the balloons caught and half deflated. I thought about children who probably lost them. Anyway, I immediately said, "Colleen's book of photos would be way cooler than this and people would totally buy it" (like me, for all my friends).
Another great smiley face.
Aw, Erin! Who knows! But I will endeavour to find smiley faces where'er I go. It seems to be in food mostly. Hmmm ... what does that say about me? DON'T answer that. :)
any questions?
