it was there she grew

I adore the arctic poppy for how lovely and lithe she is in spite of a harsh environment. (Or is it because of it?) Paper in bloom, stem twining the air's smallest sigh, chin up ever sunward and face full of light, selfless and frail, untroubled by surly stones, forgetting everything else, she worships.
